The way of giving birth while standing is found in herbivorous animals. But, it isn’t the only position these animals give birth. The major importance of these behaviours is in protecting oneself and their offspring from predators. So, giving birth whether in standing position or not depends on the situation.

Many animals like elephants, giraffes, horses, camels, rhinoceroses, llamas, cows etc. have this capability.

Even, there are unique characteristics regarding this kind of births. For example, a giraffe’s baby has a unique way of beginning its life. During birth, it falls from a height without getting hurt.

So, the almighty has given these animals a remarkable talent of  giving birth while standing when there can be danger around.
